myHappymind at St Paul’s
At St Paul’s, we are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of every child. As part of this commitment, we use the myHappymind programme, an award-winning whole-school approach that helps children understand how their brains work and gives them practical strategies to build resilience, confidence and positive mental wellbeing.
Through engaging lessons and daily activities, children learn about their brains, emotions and habits that can help them thrive both in school and beyond. The programme teaches important lifelong skills such as:
- Happy Breathing
- Strength Spotting
- Gratitude
- Active Listening
- Big Dream Goal Setting
At our school, myHappymind is woven into everyday life. Children use Happy Breathing to help them feel calm and ready to learn, celebrate their individual strengths, and develop positive attitudes towards challenges. Staff regularly refer to myHappymind strategies throughout lessons, assemblies and daily interactions, helping children build a shared language around wellbeing.
We have seen children become more confident in expressing their emotions, more resilient when facing challenges and better equipped to manage friendships and everyday worries. The programme supports our wider commitment to creating a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued and ready to succeed.
We also encourage parents and carers to engage with myHappymind through the Parent App, enabling families to reinforce learning and wellbeing strategies at home. By working together, we can help our children develop healthy habits that support both their happiness and their future success. These resources can be accessed online on your computer, or through an app on your phone. The Parent App will support you as a parent in understanding what your child is learning, activities for you to do together at home and also a Kids Zone featuring myHappymind Games plus much more!
