CHANGE TO ENTRANCE ARRANGEMENTS
AT THE START OF THE SCHOOL DAY
We have received a concern from a parent about years 1-6 entering the main school building through the hall doors in the mornings. As the weather has deteriorated the grass area has become quite muddy. We often get many parents waiting just outside the main hall doors meaning that the children are having to walk across the muddy grass to enter school. Can I please ask that all parents stand further back by the main railings to allow the children to safely access the main doors. If you wish to speak to the member of SLT on duty can I ask that you wait for the bulk of the children to have entered the school building before doing so. At this point we will be more than happy to speak to you.
As of Monday 2nd March we are going to trial a new system of children coming into the school building:
- Reception and Nursery will enter through their usual door.
- Years 1 and 2 will now enter through the door accessible at the top of the steps on the school playground (it is the door years 2-4 are dismissed from at the end of each day) .
- Years 3-6 will continue to enter through the main hall doors.
The lunch trolley and bagels will still be available to Years 1 and 2 (as well as the rest of the school). Should they need to use the lunch trolley or want a bagel they will simply come to the hall through the main school building before they go to class. As always, there will be a senior leader on each of the doors each morning to welcome the children in.
Please note, end of day procedures remain unchanged.
We are hoping that this change to access the school building at the beginning of the school day will help to relieve congestion and make it safe for all children. Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
