Dear Parents/Guardians,
You are invited to our World Book Day assembly on Thursday 5th March at 9.10am.
To celebrate our enjoyment of books and poems on World Book Day, each class will learn a poem and perform it in
assembly. Not only is this an important part of the curriculum, it is an opportunity for everyone to be involved and
mark this special day in a memorable way.

This year, the children are invited to join with one (or more if they wish) of the following activities:
1) The children are invited to dress up as characters from their favourite stories or poems as we have done in
previous years. They always really enjoy it and you are very creative! This will not be a competition. The
focus is on everybody enjoying and participating in the assembly no matter what they are wearing.
2) Decorate a potato as a character from a book.
3) Create a scene from a book in a shoebox.

We look forward to sharing this with you.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Ingram
