School re- opening

Dear Parents/Carers,

I do hope you are all well, had an enjoyable half term with your families and that you are keeping safe. It is another beautiful day and I hope that you have been able to get out and enjoy some sunshine with your children and families.
I just wanted to give you some brief updates. The staff team and governors have been working very hard to get school ready for a phased reopening. This morning, we have reviewed government guidelines which were updated over half term and where necessary, amended our planned practices accordingly. We will be finalising details and communicating them to our families this week.

Later this week, Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 parents and carers will receive a letter giving specific details for timings, where to enter school, what to bring etc. Please can I point out that updates to the following policies: Safeguarding, Child Protection and Behaviour Policies are on our website.
For those children who will remain at home – we are missing you all. This is a worrying time for everyone and we all have to make decisions that we feel our best for our own families. Nobody has the right answer, so please don’t feel you have to explain or feel guilty about the decisions you are making at the moment. We will continue to support our families through regular phone calls and by putting daily work on our work from home section of the website. Please bear with us as all the staff will be involved in school with either ‘bubbles’ of children or looking after our children of key workers.
We do not know what will happen yet in September. We will await guidance from the Department for Education and hope that as we move through the summer, the situation improves enough that we may be able to return to a more ‘normal’ way of working in school. Let us pray that this will be the case. Have a good week everyone.

Thanks for your understanding and support.
God bless,
Mrs Damms
