Phonics 10-15 minutes: Reading sentences lesson:
For the next few weeks we will mix up the different diagraphs and see if the children are confident to read and write the words and sentences. 
Warm up: Point to sounds for the children to say.  Practice the sounds below. 
Warm up words to read quickly-  chip, shop, jam, kit

 Children to start phase 4 

Children to read these sentences and draw a picture. 
The need to blend the first 3 sounds and then add on the final sound. 

 

It is a pink spoon.

It is a big roast.

It is a high swing.

It is a brown chimp.

Maths:
Retrieval-
Children to count 1-20, then back. 

Children to focus on numbers 11-20.  

Weekly activities:
Recognising numbers 1-20. 
Ordering numbers 1-20
Saying one more or one less than a number. 
Adding and taking away number sentences. 

 

All these activities will get the children read for year one, I will keep them on over the holiday. 

Literacy

Here is a new story to read about feelings about year one. 

Activities:
Draw pictures for the story. 
Talk about lifecycles. 
Write a letter to Miss Concannon telling her about them. 

Talk about how they feel about coming back to school and being in year 1.
